Labor Day Weekend Yoga and Meditation Retreat with Halli and Marisa... In the relaxing and picturesque setting of Truchas , NM , we will excavate the shadowy corners of our daily lives to reveal the brilliance of our deepest selves. Through the yogic practices of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and dyana (meditation), we will quiet the noise of our minds and the discomfort in our bodies to reveal the inherent tranquility and freedom of our soul.
Halli Bourne began exploring movement and breath as an actress and singer. After a near-fatal car accident that broke both legs and her pelvis, she discovered yoga. Halli says, “I noticed after a few months that not only was my body getting stronger, but also my over-active mind had become calmer. Through the years, yoga has helped me manage the residual pain from the car accident, but more importantly, yoga soothes my worries, tensions, and confusions. In the richness of what yoga has to offer, I have found peace and clarity in my life, and I endeavor to offer the same to my students.” Halli invites students into self-exploration through the focus of attention and the power of the breath in both yoga and meditation.
Halli is owner of Deep Roots Yoga & Healing Arts in Bernalillo, New Mexico. She offers group and private classes at Nob Hill Yoga Center and the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. She also provides private yoga and meditation classes, and Craniosacral Therapy, at Jay Lasko’s Acupuncture Office, and she conducts spiritual life coaching sessions over the telephone and in-person.
Halli is a 500-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher, an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT) through Yoga Alliance, a spiritual life coach, a certified craniosacral therapist, a (retired) licensed massage therapist, and a certified Yoga Trance Dance instructor.
Marisa Wolfe teaches Kripalu Yoga with a Viniyoga influence, for a gentle yoga practice that focuses on the breath, appropriate alignment and developing inward focus, while respecting the limits and capabilities of each individual. Marisa encourages her students to explore their body and self in caring, playful classes for all levels. Marisa says, “We all work really hard in life, but we forget that relaxation is productive and takes practice. It's important to rest. Not just lie down, but really rest—body, mind, and soul. I practice yoga to work out the ‘stuff’ that I hold in my body, to keep my mind clearer. Yoga helps me see the joy in life, and as a teacher, I help others make the same journey.”
Marisa is the owner of Yoga Del Sol Studio in Lemitar, New Mexico where she offers yoga and meditation classes for all levels of students. She also offers classes through New Mexico Tech, various companies and organizations, and workshops around the country. She is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT-200 hour+) with Yoga Alliance.
Marisa is also a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Thai Yoga Massage, which combines deep massage and stretching. She also offers Swedish Massage, NeuroMuscular Therapy for TMJ, and Cranialsacral Therapy.
